    PTUJ

I'm glad that the only host that I found was in Ptuj. First, I found the city is nicer than Maribor, where I wanted to go first. Oldest Slovenian city, its first foundations date from Roman period. That little Slovenia has about 500 castles! Obviousely I climbed to Ptuj's one, quite easy to reach, 12th century castele, but most part were restored, this one in a museum. I enjoyed walking in its tiny center, full of colors and low buildings painted and built with good taste.

One more coincidence happened after this: in Muzikafe, the waitress called for my help to make a translation: a 58 years old French guy wanted to use the internet, and, travelling in the East by bike, he almost didn't speak a word of English!
I was laughing at him, typical stereotype of French who don't speak english abroad. Then he came to me, and we discovered that we were waiting for the same host: Pietro!
Pietro is a strange specimen of Italian who speaks English and even Italian with French accent ! He welcomed me and the other French, Phillipe, in perfect conditions, even if he was overbooked at worked! Pietro made a lots of efforts to speak and understand French with Phillipe, fortunately I was here to translate... Besides its English lacks, Phillipe is doing a great trip, riding from France through Italy, Slovenia, Cratia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Poland, hosted by people from a organization of cyclists or couchsurfing, or anyone who can host him. Great physical and cultural challenge!

During the night, we had an international dinner with Italians and Slovenian people, and it resulted as a happy mixture of every languages that everyone knew. After the slovenian pizza (that the Italians considered correct :)), we went for the delicious traditional slovenian drink, bueberry liqueur: borovnicke. INTRODUCTION
